Need to serve a bank account levy? Timing is important to freeze accounts before the debtor can remove funds.
A bank account levy is used by judgment creditors to recover money owed for a debt. The judgment holder files a writ of judgment with the court where the judgment was entered against the debtor as a bank account levy. Such a levy grants permission to take the debtor’s assets.
The writ for levy is served on the debtor’s account at the location the account is held. Some banks make it harder to enforce judgments by making you serve a specific branch. At Excell Process Service, our experienced state process servers get documents such as a writ of judgement, memorandum of costs, claim or exemption, or notice of levy served quickly to ensure accounts targeted for levy are not tampered.
